Power was knocked to some residents and businesses in Humboldt for upwards of seven hours on Wednesday.

During the noon hour, a semi attempting to leave the back alley between 9th and 10th Streets managed to nearly take an entire power pole with them.

The outage affected businesses and households from 5th to 8th Avenue, and from the west side of Main Street to 16th Street.

It also knocked out the two traffic lights at 11th and 16th Street, as well as all street lights in the affected zone.

Power was returned for some customers at 3:00pm and was taken offline at 7:00pm in order to allow crews to make repairs.

Full power was restored at 8:37pm.
