Prairie Women on Snowmobiles Mission 2016 will be making a stop in the area on Sunday as part of their initiative to raise awareness for breast cancer.

Kelly Soderholm got involved with the mission after her mom was diagnosed with breast cancer a few years ago.

She said the fun filled evening gets underway at 5pm at the Naicam School gym.

"Our local fire department from Naicam puts on their sirens and invites the women into town on their sleds so it's a pretty neat thing to see, and then we have silent auctions, 50/50's to help raise money for this too, and it is unique this year because we have a core rider from Naicam."

Over the past three years PWOS has contributed more than $50,000 to the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency as they snowmobile around the province.

Although the great weather in the forecast will be welcomed by the riders, the lack of snow is a concern said Soderholm, "at this point they are not sure if they can ride the whole thing but they do have truck to take their snowmobiles if they have to but they are hoping to ride the whole event."

Tickets are available by calling Soderholm at 231-6079, at the Naicam C-store or the Naicam Hotel.
