As the year winds down in Horizon School Division the Humboldt Public School Student Leadership Council has a few projects they are quite proud of.

First off, back in February they held a bake sale for the student body, that raised $300 for the Humboldt Refugee Coalition.

Then in April, in partnership with the School Community Council they hosted a family fun carnival with a portion of the proceeds going towards the victims of the Fort McMurray wildfire. They were able to contribute $1,000 to the Red Cross for that initiative.

They took another $1,000 and donated that to Free the Children. The charity behind the growing phenomenon of We Day will direct the funds to a clean drinking water program. The SLC work to create change on a local, national and global platform has landed students from HPS a spot at next year's We Day festivities.
