Just hours after going on strike, Teamsters Canada Rail Conference says it has reached a tentative agreement with Canadian Pacific Railway.

Todd Lewis, the president of APAS, is pleased with the news.

"Credit to CP and the union for getting this done, and look forward to seeing improvements in service and getting the backlog cleaned up and getting ready for moving next year's crop."

The TCRC and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) had served CP Rail with notice of intent to strike on Sunday.

Full operations are set to resume across Canada on Thursday morning.
