Dry conditions have been the talk of spring thus far.

Fire bans have been put into place for a large portion of the province, and farmers are also looking for some precipitation to further along seeding.

Rain is finally expected to make its way to the Humboldt area over the next 48 hours, according to Agri-Meteorologist Drew Lerner.

"Moisture totals could easily run from around 18 to 30 millimetres in total, with some local totals around 55 and 60 millimetres," he said.

It has been nearly one month since we saw any type of precipitation - the last being snow that fell on April 13.

Lerner added that rain for Humboldt is expected to begin late Monday, with it continuing off and on until Wednesday.

"Monday's precipitation will mostly be in the west and southern parts of the province before it moves over towards Manitoba, with most of the rain falling in the central and eastern portions."

Cooler temperatures will also be in store on the back end of the system, with single digit daytime highs and freezing temperatures at night for Wednesday and Thursday.
