Wynyard/Foam Lake RCMP continue to investigate a fatal collision that occurred along the Yellowhead Highway.

On August 6, 2021 at approximately 3:45 p.m., Wynyard and Foam Lake RCMP were dispatched to a single vehicle collision on Highway 16 at Foam Lake, SK.

Investigation determined that the vehicle was travelling westbound when it left the roadway and entered a nearby creek. Two adult males were in the vehicle. The driver, who was from Whitehorse, YT, was declared deceased on scene. His family has been notified. The passenger received minor injuries.

Highway 16 was reduced to one lane during the initial investigation. Wynyard RCMP and an RCMP traffic reconstructionist continue to investigate.
