The Saskatchewan Teachers Federation is recommending a former Englefeld teacher lose his certificate.

Desi Zimmerman was found guilty of professional misconduct after a disciplinary hearing in October.

Allegations against Zimmerman stem from multiple incidents in 2004 with a then 18-year-old student.

Following a review from the ethics committee, the STF read on Friday that Zimmerman's punishment should be the loss of his teachers certificate.

Executive members of the federation will now discuss the penalty, and if they uphold the recommendation, Zimmerman would have a 30-day window to appeal. The executive can also recommend an alternative ending to the findings.
