Police Officers from across Saskatchewan took part in the second annual Ride for Fallen Officers, which passed through Watrous on Friday.

One of the organisers and Sargeant with the Sasktoon Police Service Patrick Barber tells us more.

"Last year, a few police officers who are avid cyclists decided to start a ride. It's modelled on one in Ontario, and it's not only to promote the memorial but also to remember and honour the fallen heroes."

The ride is to raise awareness for fallen officers as well as their memorial as Barber explains.

"We want to do something where we would go through a bunch of small communities and talk to a lot of poeple and allow us to get that message out. At the same time, all the people involved enjoy cycling obviously."

The Ride started in Prince Albert, passed through Watrous, and ended in Regina where a memorial took place Sunday.
