Fundraising efforts are continuing strong and steady for the group of volunteers behind a new care home in the City of Humboldt.

In September, in front of a packed crowd at St. Augustine Hall the announcement was made that Elizabeth's Place Inc. was in the works.

Board member Cori Norman reminds us what the plans entail for the facility.

"It's a facility with 39 suites and the plans for a 21 spot daycare license is coming through so we're pretty excited. Things are getting to a point where we're getting ready to put some signage out and getting ready to put tenders out."

Coming up this Saturday, they are hosting a Rose Bowl Dinner at St. Augustine Hall with the proceeds going towards their fundraising goal for the start up funds.

"Starting at 6 o'clock we are going to have Faith Schuler in the 'Rose Garden' playing the piano and doing some vocals while the Bella Vista Inn will be walking around serving appetizers," Norman explained.

That will be followed by a sit down chicken dinner, also catered by the BVI.

The headlining entertainment of the evening is Dissent, the University of Saskatchewan College of Law Band.

Norman explains that there is a couple links within the vocalists and Humboldt.

"Tom Hall is a relative of Glenn Hall and Tavia Burton who is the grand-daughter of John and Agnes Pratchler here in Humboldt."
