Business Owners and Entrepreneurs alike gathered in Bruno for the Sage Hill Community Futures Annual General Meeting last night.

It was held at the Bruno Community Hall and featured Alysha Van Denhurk, who is COO and part-owner of Three Farmers.

CEO of Sage Hill, Dianne Olchowski describes the work they do to support small business growth.

"Well we were happy to celebrate with some of our members and our customers out 30th year of service, and the fact that through those years we were able to pursue financing with many business owners to the tune of just over $17 Million."

Olchowski says the 2015 fiscal year is being considered a success.

"We showed relatively stable numbers in terms of revenue over expenditures which is what we were shooting for this year. We had a number of things going on in our office and so we wanted to make sure we could maintain the level of service by bringing in appropriate revenues."

Olchowski talks about the message Alysha Van Denhurk had for those in attendance last night.

"There are some things to be cognizant of when you're starting a small business or when you're trying to grow a small business. I think that she emphasized things like making sure you're marketing properly, make sure you're checking on your competition, make sure you're thinking things through."

Van Denhurk is COO and part owner of Three Farmers, a group that has hit grocery stores across the country with Camelina Oil and Roasted Chickpeas, both products grown and produced in Saskatchewan.

The Sage Hill Community Futures group has supported 683 business owners to fund around 15 hundred new jobs in the area.
