The Saskatchewan Bowhunters Association is holding their 46th annual awards banquet this Saturday at Manitou Beach.

Before the awards night, the association will meet in the afternoon for their annual general meeting.

President Ed Bergen talked about what they cover at the AGM.

"It kind of gets them up to date on what's happening in the bowhunting world through out Saskatchewan. We will be discussing season dates, you know all the kinds of things we would normally meet with the government to do. We will update our members at that and also kind of find out what they as members want us to do."

The meeting begins at 1 o'clock at the Manitou Springs Hotel. Bergen said they have a full evening of activities as well.

"At 6 o'clock we start out with cocktails, supper follows at 7pm, after supper we will do our awards for the past year and then at 9 o'clock we're having a dance with the Hot Tamales. It should be a good evening, there will be lots of door prizes and silent auction items."

Tickets are still available by calling Bergen at 365-7581.

Bergen added that they are always looking for new association members too.

"We strongly encourage anybody that is a bowhunter to belong to the organization. There is certainly strength in numbers and our membership runs anywhere from 550 to 700 people depending on the year."
