Despite admitted troubles, the province continues to move forward with growth, says Humboldt-Watrous MLA Donna Harpauer.

Recapping the past year, Harpauer touted a growing population, and job creation as highlights.

"The goal of our government is to keep Saskatchewan strong and moving forward," she explained. "We still have a population growth, which is quite exciting, and we have still been creating jobs. We know there are challenges in the resource sector, and with those challenges we know we have to be even more fiscally responsible as a government. We've made more infrastructure a priority."

With the aftermath of October's federal election, attention in Saskatchewan is slowly shifting towards April's provincial election.

"Fairly soon we are going to be seeing the platforms of the party's. People will have the opportunity to take a look at those and decide whether they want to keep on with the Saskatchewan Party's plan of moving the province forward, or the NDP's plan, whatever that may be."

Additionally, there is much to look forward to in the future according to Harpauer.

"There is a lot of optimism that if we stay on course, this will all come around, and we will continue to grow as a province."

Saskatchewan's 28th general election will send voters to the polls on April 4.
