Thanks to SaskEnergy, the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League and the community of Humboldt over $26,000 was raised for Kidsport across the province thanks to a partnership and some goals.

SaskEnergy donated $20 to Kidsport for every home team goal that each team in the league scored last season and on Friday night prior to the Humboldt Broncos and Estevan Bruins game a cheque was presented to chair of the local chapter Mike Ulriksen for a total of $2,985.

"It's a huge boost for us as a committee," Ulriksen said. "We take that money, that's another 10, 11, 12, 15 kids that are going to get an opportunity to be part of a sports organization and get out of their house that otherwise maybe wouldn't be able to."

SaskEnergy Community Involvement Leader Shannon Doka says the program is a great initiative through all the partners.

"We're very proud of the way the season unfolded last year."

Doka was pleased to announce the crown corporation is partnering with Kidsport and the SJHL once again. Each SJHL centre hosts the local SaskEnergy employees at a game where they will sell raffle tickets for some prize packages. When they were in Humboldt our local employees raised more money than any other city, something Ulriksen is both proud of and thankful for.

"The City of Humboldt has a lot of generous people, you look at all the fundraisers that go on through out the year and you look at all the awesome projects that are going on, Humboldt always steps up. Humboldt always makes a difference in the lives of those in the community."

The game this year where the SaskEnergy crew will be on hand is in November, the exact date has not been finalized.
