With farmers back in the field, SaskPower is urging those who work near power lines to be extra cautious.

The crown utility has received several reports of contact with power lines already this year, according to Spokesman Jonathon Tremblay.

Types of incidents reported thus far include farm machinery striking poles, hooking power lines, or simple contact that shorts out the grid in an area.

Tremblay added that they are also hearing about underground contact and an auger hitting a line that was buried in the soil as well.
