Due to scheduled maintenance a water conservation advisory has been issued for the City of Humboldt and anyone else on the Humboldt-Wakaw system.

The advisory is in place of a likely precautionary drinking water advisory that could come into effect later this week.

Residents can fill containers to be prepared for the PDWA but under the conservation advisory they ask residents to not water lawns or gardens, postpone washing vehicles, take shorter showers and avoid baths, minimize your clothes and dishwashing plus only flush the toilet when necassary.

The city will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates when needed.

The conservation is in place to ensure the reserves can last during the short term advisory.
