Looking to help build a strong future in Humboldt, Terry Schatz is seeking a spot on City Council.

Schatz, like many others, believes that building and infrastructure is a primary target for the city.

"Like many other communities, we have areas in our city that have an aged infrastructure," he explained. "Water, sewer, lagoons, roads and sidewalks must continue to be one of our top priorities. We must continue to rebuild and revitalize the old, while at the same time, balancing our needs for future growth."

Schatz added that a good thought process is required as well.

"The main issue without a question is infrastructure. There is no doubt the city has made this a priority, and it must continue to be so. However, these needs have to be met while balancing other needs and projects within the community."

This is the first time that Schatz has decided to run for council, and he is looking forward to having a chance to represent Humboldt.

"I'm running because I am passionate about our community. Although we have some challenges ahead, we also have opportunity. I believe I can contribute to the community's future to maintain, grow and prosper," he said. "My goal as councillor is to make Humboldt a community where people want to work, raise a family, and retire by providing the facilities and services they require."

Schatz joins 10 other men and women on the ballot for six spots on council.

The final advanced poll for the election is on Saturday from 1:00pm to 7:00pm at Caleb Village. The election is held Wednesday, October 26.
