If you head out to the Communplex in Allan, Saskatchewan, tucked away in a small corner of the arena now sits a miniature rink in memory of one special individual.

Bonnie and Kelly Schatz, parents to Logan Schatz, the former captain for the Humboldt Broncos wanted to do something truly extraordinary in memory of their son.

Over the past few months, Schatzy's Corner has come to fruition in the town of Allan. After the April 6th crash that claimed Logan's life, his parents along with the entire town were left wanting to create something to solidify Logan's legacy within their community.

Bonnie Schatz gave us details about how the memorial has made it to completion, and how her husband really took the reigns on the project.

"The town was awarded quite a few donations to do something here at our rink, and someone suggested at our Rink board meeting to make a mini-rink. Instantly Kelly loved it and started things in motion."

Kelly Schatz went into detail about his objectives for the project, as well what this means to not only himself but the community.

"I had 3 initial goals. First being something unique and nice in Logan's honour, the second one is durability for all the future kids to use, and last off I wanted something that resembled a real rink, with real glass, boards, and all the essentials. To get to see all the kids here use it and have fun that really warms my heart."

The Schatz's hope to continue on Logan's memory in any way they can.
