Shoppers Drug Mart is putting women's health first once again, as their annual Growing Women's Health campaign is back.

Formerly known as the Tree of Life, this year marks the 14th year that Shoppers has participated in the program.

"It started in 2002, and since then, they have raised over 26 million dollars for over 480 charities across Canada," said Dorothy Frey with Shoppers in Humboldt. "100% of the donations that we raise here at the store will go directly towards out charity of choice."

Funds this year will benefit the Humboldt District Hospital STARS Helipad.

Frey said a stat from the past year led them to support the purchase of a helipad.

"In the 2014-2015 fiscal year, the STARS helicopter was called to Humboldt and District 12 times, so we know there is a need for a helipad here."

Shoppers has an ongoing campaign to both businesses, and in-store traffic.

"We have been going around to businesses with letters, explaining to them the donation. We are also doing a draw for a gift basket here in the store."

A business that donates $50 will receive a bird icon that will be displayed in-store on the Growing Women's Health tree.

Customers can elect to purchase a leaf for $1, butterfly for $5, an apple for $10, or even a bird icon themselves that will also be displayed.

Any donations over five dollars will qualify for an entry in to win a weekly gift basket over the four week period of the program. A candy jar will be available for donations as well, where customers have to guess how much is inside the jar.

On September 23, they will also hold a bake sale inside the store.
