A taste of spring to wrap up February before Old Man Winter brings you back to reality.

It's still winter in Humboldt and area, and that could prove to be the case beginning overnight on Friday, turning into Saturday.

"The models have not resolved this system all that well, so it's a pretty big range where we could see between five and 20 centimetres of snow," says Environment Canada's John Paul Cragg. "With this system, it appears most of the snow will be falling through the day on Saturday."

The potential winter storm is likely to most impact the west-central portion of the province, where storm watches were put in place early Thursday afternoon.

In Humboldt and communities east, the edge of the storm could be seen with lighter dustings of snow in the five to 10 cm range, and gusting winds between 30 and 50 kilometres.

Any snow that is seen is likely to wrap up overnight Saturday, and early Sunday morning.

The winter storm watch that is on for the western part of the province also is in place for the Wakaw and Watrous areas.
