Humboldt-Watrous MLA Donna Harpauer and the Social Services department have reappointed many board members for area housing authorities.

With 260 housing authorities in the fold and more than 1,400 volunteers, they are community-based organizations that provide management to housing units operated under a federal, provincial, municipal cost-sharing agreement.

In Humboldt, chairperson Elaine Cann is back for another term on the board, as is Lois Winkel. They join already serving members Elaine Prokopishin, Lorne Willson, Lorne Gasmo, Gwen Saret and Leslie Stadnyk.

The Humboldt Housing Authority provides daily management of 175 housing units.

"This local hands-on approach ensures that the Saskatchewan Housing Corporation responds effectively to the needs of each community," stated Harpauer, the province's Social Services Minister.

Victor Granger returns as the chairperson in Bruno, with Neil Manderscheid, Diane Buckle, Barry Dagenais and Annella Krentz being re-upped. The Bruno committee has 20 housing units.

The Town of Naicam will see Cheryl Ramler return as chairperson. She will be assisted by Mary Bussiere, Viola Cann and Shelley Archibald. There are 46 units in the community.

Lastly, in Wakaw, Michael Stan will serve another term as chairperson. Also back on the board is Hendrikje Boschman and Marianne Hildebrandt. They re-join Annette Markowski and Patricia Harrison.

Wakaw serves 54 housing units.
