The Arts Humboldt Sound Cheque Showcase took place Sunday afternoon.

Dawson Keller from Humboldt, Jodie Hergott from Humboldt, and Raine Gray from Raymore were this years participants.

This year, it was the 16 year old from Raymore that took the prize.

She talks about the benefits of participating in the Showcase.

"It's local, and it gives lots of people lots of opportunites. Anyone can audition, and just work hard and it gives everyone a chance to follow their dreams."

Gray talks about the people she competed against.

"They were very good. I actually met them before, like I met Dawson before, I danced against him in competition, and they're very nice people and I wish them luck in their journey in singing."

Gray explains it's all about following your dream.

"Just anyone that's afraid to follow their dreams and look for opportunites, this is a great opportunity to work towards what the want."

Gray will receive up to $2,500 in studio time and coaching, with Randy Woods in Saskatoon.
