You can help spread the Christmas cheer this year for families in need.

The Humboldt and District Kinettes have brought back the Adopt-a-Family Christmas Cheer Campaign this year. They are asking businesses or individuals to help families in need with food and gifts for this Christmas season.

"Unfortunately, for some families, this season can be very stressful. Some families in the Humboldt area have difficulty providing food for their table and the simplest of gifts for their children. This may be due to low income, health issues or other unforeseen hardships they are facing, and we don't want to see any families go without that this Christmas," said the Humboldt and District Kinettes.

The Christmas Cheer Campaign was able to provide Christmas season necessities for 55 families in the area last year.

Willing donors would choose a family with the number of kids they are able to support. The cost of the food hamper that is provided for each family is $125.00. The Humboldt and District Kinettes suggest that the gifts provided be a $50.00 maximum per kid.

Additional donations are more than welcome. "If you would like to provide the additional support we kindly ask that it be in the way of gift cards for groceries, household supplies, pharmacy supplies, hygiene products, warm winter clothing, or educational items," said the Humboldt and District Kinettes.

For businesses or individuals that are capable and willing, the first step is to print and fill out the form that's available by clicking here. Once the form is filled out you may email it to christmascheer@sasktel.net or fax it to 306-682-1290. The form must be in by November 27th.

Your hamper will be handed out to the adopted family on December 16th.
