Students from across Horizon School Division braved the weather and poor roads and attended the Opportunities Edge career expo in Muenster on Wednesday.

The career expo showcases local employers and post secondary institutions from across Western Canada to the students who attend from various schools across the Horizon School Division.

Maury Wrubleski is the Student Services Officer for St. Peter's College.

He explains why the career expo is important.

"I think it's a wonderful opportunity, first of all, for students to know what's available to them for local employment We very much value our connection with local employers. Then importantly for the students as well is the connection with post secondary education. The folks from the Saskatchewan Universities, and technical institute liaison are here."

Wrubleski adds that with the weather, a few schools and presenters had to cancel, and he hopes for a better turn out next year.

"We had first of all, some schools that were simply unable to attend, and we appreciate that discretion as the better part of card here. The roads were not good, to that end, we also had a number of displayers and presenters who were not able to be here."

Wrubleski describes how long the career expo has been running.

"We've done it every year for the passed, I think it's over 10 years now, so it goes at this time every year and we just really look forward to it."
