The talented young students in the town of Annaheim have been showing off their skills to help bring a new playground to their community.

Annaheim Playground Committee treasurer, Charlene Choboter, says the Talent Night and Dance held at the Annaheim Public School on April 20th was a big success. Along with the silver donations collected, the night included a silent auction, 50/50 and concession stand to help raise funds.

The committee began in October 2017, and they are hoping to raise the required $123,000 needed to revamp the existing playground through fundraising efforts like the talent show.

Choboter says the outdated playground is in needs of much revitalization, including landscaping, and most importantly, a new, one-piece steel play structure, complete with interactive elements to keep young minds busy and active.

"It'll be great for getting kids more interested in playing outside," Choboter says of the new playground.

The committee has currently raised approximately $12,000 and will continue their efforts at the end of May with a pallet paint night fundraiser.
