When you head to the Elgar Petersen Arena to watch the Humboldt Broncos on Friday night, be sure to take a teddy bear or two along with you.

The Broncos are holding their second annual Teddy Bear Toss as they take on the Nipawin Hawks.

Public Relations and Game Day Coordinator Jocelyn Doetzel says that teddy bears of all shapes and sizes that are new or gently used are welcome to be thrown on the ice after the Broncos score their first goal of the game.

Doetzel says that the bears will be collected and donated to the Humboldt District Hospital, where they will go to kids who are in the hospital.

In 2016, Matthieu Gomercic scored the goal to send the bears flying on to the ice as the Broncos defeated the Weyburn Red Wings 2-0.

In addition to Teddy Bear Toss night, Doetzel says that being the last game prior to the Christmas break, the Broncos are encouraging fans to wear their best Christmas sweater.

A fan appreciation night is beind held as well, with various prizes to be given away throughout the night through the game day programs.
