Humboldt will see some cooler temperatures over the next day or two.

Environment Canada's Terri Laing says it is something many will welcome.

"People have been begging for the heat but then after a few days it starts weighing on people because its hard to get that relief especially at night when it's not cooling down so then it actually comes as a welcome thing when it does bring some rain and cooler temperatures."

The low pressure system bringing the cooler weather is also bringing the possibility of rain with it, and even another storm for Tuesday.

Temperatures are expected shoot back up toward the 30 degree mark by Thursday and the heatwave is forecasted to last throughout the weekend and into next week.

Monday night's severe thunderstorm hit Saskatoon hard with heavy rain and hail that flooded some streets and casued power outages. Fortunately, Humboldt caught the less intense edge of the storm.

World Weather Inc. Meteorologist Drew Lerner said the recent rain fall was not significant enough to turn things around, "this particular bought of precipitation that occurred in the last 24 hours has not set a new precedent for the region."

Lerner says that drought will continue to be a big concern for central Saskatchewan.

"Precipitation could be locally heavy for a while but it will decline and mostly dry weather will be back across many areas by this evening," said Lerner.

Low's at night will stay in the 10-16 degree mark for the coming weeks.
