Thanksgiving may be a time for being with family, but the tradition of family supper is certainly prevalent in the Thanksgiving weekend.

But what are people in Humboldt eating more of?

Dave Doepker is the Owner and manager of Humboldt Sobeys.

He talks about what people are shopping for this year.

"It's very interesting, a lot of people still go with the traditional turkey with some ham, but people are doing some different things as well. I talk to some lady that said she was making dry ribs, so people's tastes are changing."

Doepker adds that a lot of other things change with the Thanksgiving weekend.

"There's a lot of the fresh greens, brussel sprouts (for example), we don't normally sell a lot of it. Thanksgiving, sales increase dramatically. Lot's of pumpkin products, whipping cream for the pumpkin pies, a lot of things hgave justs spiked for the Thanksgiving weekend."

Doepker says turkey sales actually started poor, but picked up near the end.

"Actually they started out a little slow with the miserable weather we had at the beginning of the week, but everything picked up as per normal. We had a couple of good days Friday and Saturday and it seems like people were in town shopping, so it was good."

Doepker also wishes everyone a happy Thanksgiving.
