The community of Quill Lake came together for a Scottish celebration for Robbie Burns on Friday Night.

At the Quill Lake Legion Hall starting at 7 PM residents, dancers, singers, and performers of all kinds held the 23rd Annual Robbie Burns Celebration.

Robbie Burns was a Scottish poet who was born on January 25th in 1759. In honour of Burns, the town held a celebration presented by the Quill Lake Highland Dance Club. The evening included dancers from the Highland Dance Club, Celtic music, Bagpipe performers, and much more.

The celebration is much more than just an event where residents can gather for entertainment. It's also the only fundraiser for the Quill Lake Highland Dance Club.

"They take all those funds and rent the space we dance in, new costumes, it pays for our teachers gas mileage and a bunch of other needs for the dance club," said Renee Ingram, a dance teacher in Quill Lake.

The dance club plans to keep the celebration on for a consecutive 24th year in a row.
