You're a mean one, Mr. Grinch.

For the second time this week, during overnight hours, a Grinch of Christmas has been taking away from the citizens of Humboldt by stealing displays from the Festival of Lights.

It started last week when a display made by Futuristic Industries was nabbed from the campground, followed by a small ornamental truck and Christmas tree display during the night of November 19th.

"It's very frustrating for all of these businesses to put all of the work that they have done into these displays, then just to have these people feel they have the right to go in and take whatever they want. I'd like to remind them that Santa does have a list, and he knows if they've been naughty. To be honest, taking Christmas decorations, I think puts you right at the top of that list," said Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, Brent Fitzpatrick.

There are currently no cameras set up in the area of the festival, but it's still a surprise to Fitzpatrick that someone would do that. "It's an absolute shock. There's never been a necessity to have that done, and unfortunately, now it's something we have to consider."

The Festival of Lights is set to begin on Friday, November 23rd.

"We still want people to come out. Let's come out and set the grinches aside and really enjoy the season. It's a nice way to kick off the season. They're great displays, there's been a lot of work that's gone into them. Let's just show the grinches wrong, that they can't steal Christmas."
