Three area schools are teaming up to give back to a trio of east-central Saskatchewan food banks.

Naicam based Cropper Motors is assisting students from Naicam, Quill Lake and Archerwill as they "scare hunger."

Karen Cropper, the controller at the dealership speaks more about this partnership.

"This initiative is between the WE groups and Ford Canada. Essentially what's happened is they have gotten together, if the WE groups want to fundraise to scare hunger and to benefit the food banks in the area Ford dealers in the area will partner with you."

Each school is collecting food plus with transportation courtesy Cropper's they will have town wide canvasses on the afternoon of Halloween. Both Naicam and Quill Lake will start at 3:30, Archerwill's drive will run from 1:15-3:30. If you won't be home and still want to help out call either the Naicam, Archerwill or Quill Lake School or Cropper's and they will be happy to assist in providing either a food or cash donation.

Cropper says giving back to the area is something they always focus on but she says seeing the students involved is equally satisfying.

"That's the fun part, when you get the kids involved. You start spending time with them in the different communities, we've met some fantastic people and some wonderful children, teachers and staff, it's always nice."

Naicam School will donate their collection to Melfort's bank, the Quill Lake donations go to Wadena's bank and the Kelvington bank will benefit from Archerwill's collection.

Last year the Naicam School with about 220 students were able to give over 1,100 pounds of food to the Melfort bank.
