Humboldt city council has voted to alter the recreational vehicle and trailer bylaw they implemented prior to the summer.

Due to safety concerns council had required owners must have their RV's and trailers no closer than two meters to the inside of their sidewalk or curb in front of their property.

Monday night at their meeting they changed that two metre distance to 1.2 metres which equals four feet.

They did decide to stick with the previously agreed upon time lapse of 48 hours that one could be parked on the street.

Also taking a good amount of time at the meeting was their signage bylaw that will allow them to moderate billboards, road signs as well as business signs on windows.

They couldn't come up with a solution to finalize the bylaw so council provided options for city staff, it will be added to a future meeting agenda.
