With an expanding business and family, Tremblay Electric has connected the dots to make their shop the entire office.

On Friday they held the grand opening at their new location, 522 9th Street in Humboldt.

The building had served the business as their workshop, with the Tremblay home being the office portion, but with another addition to their family, Adam Tremblay says it was time to put it all together.

"Family is very important for us and having a new location really helps us separate the two and helps us move forward with both (family and business)."

Over the past four years, the business has become a mainstay in the Humboldt area, and for their efforts, Tremblay Electric was awarded Small Business of the Year at the Mark of Excellence Awards in March.

"It's a family business and we take a lot of pride in what we do and our customer service. We want to grow, we know we're going to be in the community for a long time and we want to be part of the community," said Tremblay.

The award comes on the heels of another honour in 2015, when Adam and his wife Stacey were named Young Entrepreneur of the Year.

She says that the key to their success has simply been providing what they believe in.

"Just putting a lot of emphasis on our core values of quality, reliability and safety, and I know that is something our team has continually been working on."

The Tremblay's have also helped bring more awareness to autism in the Humboldt area, taking part in the Light It Up Blue campaign by offering free blue light bulbs to residents.

Stacey noted that they are thankful for the support of the community in helping spread the word about autism.

"I know it's something that seems very small to us, but by teaming up with autism awareness for the Light It Up Blue campaign, we're just hoping it will give a chance to spread the word about services for families affected by autism."

"We were pumped to get behind it and it means a lot to us."

Light It Up Blue was formed by Autism Speaks as a way to get more buildings and businesses involved in spreading awareness for autism by replacing normal lights with blue lights.

As part of the grand opening celebration, Sam Jenkins, a young boy who has autism, was invited to do the ribbon cutting.

Tremblay Electric will be offering the free light bulbs throughout the month of April.
