The City of Humboldt this going to be painted green and yellow this upcoming spring as Humboldt will receive 1,000 Yellow Apeldoorn tulips any day now.

Vesey's Seeds Limited out of PEI sent the tulips for the city of Humboldt to plant before winter in honour of the Broncos that passed away in the crash on April 6th.

The people in PEI felt it was necessary to let the people of Humboldt know they are thinking of them as the flowers are grown out of the Netherlands.

John Barrett, director of sales marketing and development for Vesey's, on why the flower shop chose the Yellow Apeldoorn tulips.

"The colours between the bloom of the tulip and the foliage, perfectly matched the colours of the team. we thought this is a perfect fit."

The Mayor of Humboldt, Rob Muench, stated the flowers will be planted through out the city in different areas. The hope is to get the flower settled before winter so the flowers bloom this up coming spring.
