Two people have died following a two-vehicle collision south of Kelvington.

The collision took place at the intersection of Highways 49 and 38, though it wasn't specified by police at what time. Traffic was diverted for a period of seven hours as clean up and an investigation took place.

Initial investigation has revealed that a truck being driven by a 66-year-old man failed to stop at a stop sign. The truck collided with a westbound semi.

A 66-year-old man, who was driving the truck, was transported to hospital where he later died. A 98-year-old female passenger died at the scene.

The 52-year-old driver of the semi was not injured in the collision.
