The Melfort RCMP are investigating a two-vehicle crash on Canada Day that took an elderly man's life.
Police say at around 7:30pm Friday an east-bound vehicle driven by an 88 year-old man was struck while attempting to cross Highway 6 about 20 kilometres south of Melfort.
When crossing the vehicle was hit by a north-bound vehicle.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, the 54 year-old woman driving the other vehicle was treated and released from hospital.
On Sunday, around 3pm a vehicle was struck by a train in Melfort at a marked railroad crossing.
A 51 year-old woman was killed while a 49 year-old man was taken to hospital via STARS with serious injuries.
The investigation is continuing with help from CN Police and a collision reconstructionist.
