UPDATE: As of 1:30pm, the Amber Alert has been deactivated by police. A press conference is scheduled for 1:45pm for another update.

Police have issued an update in regards to a missing seven-year-old girl.

The amber alert for Nia Eastman, 7, is continuing, after she was not returned to her mother by her father, Adam Eastman, on Wednesday night.

Nia was to be dropped off at 7:00pm, but that did not happen. Police then found an abandoned vehicle belonging to Adam at around 10:00pm near Snowden.

At a press conference Thursday morning in Regina, Sargeant Earl LeBlanc stated that Adam Eastman was found dead at 5:30am.

LeBlanc added that he died from self-inflicted wounds.

Nia Eastman remains missing, and LeBlanc says that they continue to search for her whereabouts.

She is described as 3'11", weighing 50 pounds with blonde, shoulder-length hair, last scene wearing pink glasses, a purple long-sleeved shirt with butterflies, a pink skirt and purple leggings.

Anyone with information is asked to call 1-877-762-6237.
