A 20-year-old man is in hospital after being struck by a vehicle as he lay on the travelled section of a highway.

The incident happened around 10:45 p.m. Friday on Highway 5 near Englefeld, RCMP said in a news release.

The man suffered serious injuries and was transported by STARS to hospital in Saskatoon, where he remains.

Humboldt and Lanigan RCMP, an RCMP Forensic Collision Reconstructionist and the Englefeld Fire Department all assisted on scene and with the investigation.

Police ask the public for any information about the collision, or if a man was seen near the highway at that time.
