Cars from as far away as Manitoba and Alberta are headed to Bruno on Sunday as the 11th Annual Show and Shine takes place.

For an event to continue its success year after year, something has to keep people coming, and one of the organizers, Tammie Krentz, believes they have the right mix.

"A lot of it is free. You can take your family and there is tractor pulls, car show, lots of things to do. It's a full day of fun."

The fun isn't limited to just walking around admiring vehicles and tractors. There is entertainment to keep the kids busy as well.

"Thomas the Train rides. That's absolutely free. We also have a bouncy tent for the little ones," she said.

Last year, Kevin Therres fired up his bio-diesel jet car at the show and this year they are bringing a similar attraction.

Dave and Sherrie Bodnarchuk are the owners of SuperBird, an alcohol funny car.

"We're honoured to have them come to Bruno. Of course, the engine is all apart because it is a car with lots of horsepower," noted Krentz. "You can see the build, the takedown, and the fire up and see how much horsepower it has. Bring your ear plugs."

There will be two times - 1:00 and 2:30pm - that the car will have its roar heard. Boss Blue and Dirt Wrangler will have a mod tractor demo, and a car seat inspection clinic takes place from 10:00am to 12:30pm.

Whatever funds the event does net are collected by the Bruno Lions, according to Krentz.

"They have the food booth and run our awesome pancake breakfast. After that, they do burgers and fries and that all goes to the Lions. They turn around and give (the profit) to the community."

Some organizations that continue to benefit from the Bruno Lions are figure skating, hockey and broomball.

Registration for the car show begins at 9:00am and runs until noon. The pancake breakfast is on during the same time window.
