A Wakaw man who was sentenced to three years in prison for conspiracy to commit murder is appealing his conviction.

Curtis Vey's lawyer says that much of the Crown's case was made on recordings from undercover police posing as cell mates. However, the defence says that it was quite difficult to hear the recordings in court.

The appeal also states that the judge didn't properly explain to the jury what conspiracy is.

Vey's appeal was filed on Thursday.

The co-accused, Melfort's Angela Nicholson, sent her appeal intentions earlier in the week.

Her lawyer stated that the judge didn't stress adequately that the jury had to find beyond reasonable doubt that they intended to commit murder.

Vey and Nicholson were sentenced on September 2 in Prince Albert.
