Two lovers charged with conspiracy to commit murder are going to jail.

In June, a jury in Prince Albert deliberated for around 30 hours before convicting Wakaw's Curtis Vey and Melfort's Angela Nicholson on two counts each.

Friday in court in Prince Albert they were each sentenced to three years in prison.

The crown argued that both Vey and Nicholson serve six year sentences for reasons that included financial motivation.

Vey's lawyer said it was a serious offence but the case falls on the lower end of the range, arguing for a 16 month sentence.

Nicholson's lawyer pleaded for a six month sentence and two years probation, which would require anger management.
