At a young age, most students in high school enjoy to travel and students from Wadena and Rose Valley got that opportunity.

Eighteen Grade 10-12 students from Wadena Composite and Rose Valley School had the chance to explore the Yukon Territory on the way to the Arctic Circle from September 13th to the 20th.

The trip started off with students flying to Whitehorse, Yukon where they enjoyed some alpine hiking at Kluane National Park.  Next was a stop in Dawson City where they traveled north 400 Kilometers through Tomb Stone territorial park and eagle plans. Eventually, the young travelers got to a point known as "The Arctic Circle" where there is the only road that breaches the barrier of the Arctic Circle.

Over the last 20 years, Wadena Composite School has teamed up with other schools to go on trips across Canada to give students the opportunity to learn about the Great White North's geography, biology, art, and native studies.

This is the first time the Wadena Composite school has done anything of this nature with Rose Valley School.
