The Town of Wakaw has installed new memorial benches in the community.

In 2016, an initiative was announced where members of the community could purchase a bench and have it installed in honour of someone close to them.

Community Developer Erin Standish said that their goal for installing the benches was to place them in populated walking areas throughout the community for those who need a break.

The town thanked the Markowski, Redl, Lange and Osze families for getting involved and celebrating their loved ones in the community.

Town resident Dale Redl originally brought the motion to Wakaw Town Council over the winter in 2016 to help kickstart the idea.
