The Town of Leroy is currently under a Drinking Water Advisory.

The advisory was issued at 8:00am on Monday, as a planned fire hydrant replacement and isolation valve replacements take place.

Water will be turned off for the entire town on Monday and again on Tuesday to allow for work to take place.

Although water will eventually be turned back on, the advisory is to alert residents that it will not be safe for drinking, unless boiled.

Tests will need to be run to ensure quality is adequate in order for the advisory to be lifted.

The town notes that when water service is turned back on, residents can purchase water from the Water Treatment Plant at a cost of one dollar per five gallons.
