Humboldt City Council convened for two hours Tuesday night covering a wide number of items on the agenda.

President of the Humboldt Golf Club Board, Kirk Plemel spoke to council in regards to a pair of issues.

He touched on the construction of water pipes that have cut through the back nine as well as increasing flooding issues in the northeast corner of the course.

The club is concerned about a loss in revenue.

In a letter to City Council, the club says they lost two tournaments last fall due to the work and another this year.

In addition, many seniors are reconsidering buying memberships due to the work, adding that numbers are down about a third from last year.

More flooding issues were on the table elsewhere.

Council approved a wastewater project on King Crescent, the work that comes with a price tag of $327,000 should assist to keep up to 200 basements dry during heavy rain storms.

City Manager Roy Hardy got the ball rolling on 2018 budget discussions, department heads will begin looking at revenue generation opportunities and possible savings with more discussions coming in July or August.

Representatives from the Business Improvement District provided an annual outlook on their organization.

During the meeting, Mayor Rob Muench proclaimed this week as "Public Works Week" plus the month of April was also proclaimed "Parks and Recreation" month.

Council meets again on June 12.
