The City of Humboldt has issued a Drinking Water Advisory, which will impact consumption for residents on two streets in the city.

The advisory is in place for those on 15th and 16th Street between 6th and 8th Avenue.

A leaking water main valve and subsequent depressurization that has occurred is the reason for the advisory going into place.

Water was spotted coming out of a valve on Thursday morning on the 600 block of 15th Street.

It is believed that the issue is on 6th Avenue, west of 15th Street.

Crews will isolate the issue, dig and repair the line, with the advisory being in place until the repair is made and water quality is tested.

Those affected will be issued yellow door hangers.
