Residents affected by a current drinking water advisory in Humboldt will be happy to know that the wait is almost over.

Crews began digging to repair the water main on Wednesday morning at 15th Street and 6th Avenue.

The leak has led to a drinking water advisory being issued for the 600 and 700 blocks of 15th and 16th Street.

Once the repair has been made, water sample testing will be done and when tests are cleared, the advisory will be lifted.

The city anticipates the advisory will be cancelled by Friday.
