The towns of Watrous and Southey will no longer be circuit court locations.

The Government of Saskatchewan announced four communities will have their court service moved including Carnduff and Big River.

Watrous' proceedings will move to Saskatoon, Southey's documents will now be handled in Regina.

Watrous only held court proceedings every third Thursday.

It is unclear how much the province expects to save as a result of the closure or why the decision was made.

There are still more than 60 circuit point locations in the province including every Monday in Humboldt.
