Watrous Co-op members on Wednesday voted 88 per cent in favour of amalgamating with Saskatoon and Hepburn locations.

Customers will see no differences and no jobs will be lost in the move, Watrous Co-op general manager Andrew Parrott said.

The store will save around $300,000 per year on items such as fuel trucks and administration, he said.

"As the world is getting larger and margins are getting smaller and expenses are going up, we're looking for ways to be more efficient, so this way we will be able to work with a larger Co-op and be more efficient."

Saskatoon Co-op members are set to vote in the spring. If all goes as planned, amalgamation will go ahead August 19, Parrott said.
