Centennial Ford in Watrous held a test drive event on Saturday to support the Watrous Rotary Club.

The funds from this test drive go to support the Rotary Club walking trail being built in the town.

Al Mosewich is the past president of the Watrous Rotary Club.

He describes the progress made on the trail.

"It's coming along really good. We're at a stage where we're just about complete the fundraising efforts. We're about to get shovels in the dirt and get the build up done of the trail."

Mosewich says a lot goes in to building their walking trail.

"Once we remove the topsoil and put down a base, there's gravel that goes on top, and then a hard packed surface, that's sort of like an asphalt top that goes onto it."

Mosewich adds another fundraiser is on the way, with Oktober fest hitting the Watrous Curling Club on Otober 1st.

"There is another fundraising event coming up that Watrous Rotary Club will be doing with the Curling Club. This is going to be an Oktober Fest event on October 1st. We actually have a band from Humboldt coming out to play, the Little German Band, and there will be a Disc Jock after the band plays as well."

The Rotary Club is closing in on their financial target to build the final portion of the trail.
