The Watson Community Club wanted to make sure everyone had a rockin' good time at Saturday's Cabaret Fundraiser event.

Judy Schmid, Chairperson for the club, says the theme of "From Denim to Lace & Leather" was chosen to indicate the "come as you are" atmosphere at the event. With no dress code set in place, Schmid says the club hoped to appeal to a wide variety of ages and to those who enjoy a range of musical genres.

The band 40 oz. Philosophy entertained the intimate crowd all evening and played a lot of legendary hits from the 1950's to present day.

The less-formal, more relaxed cabaret atmosphere was a hit with the night's attendees. "Everyone that was there really enjoyed it! (They) really enjoyed the music," says Schmid.

The 'low-key", yet entertaining night of music and dance also included a "midnight lunch" of smokies in a bun.

The night was one of the few fundraising ventures the Community Club hosts on its own. All funds raised through the club this year, will be dispersed amongst local organizations in June, says Schmid.
